After-school Yoga

With plans for an ongoing series of special activities and classes presented by community friends and other guests, EWECC welcomed Marcia Winter, a retired elementary teacher and children's yoga teacher, on Nov. 8. During a late-afternoon yoga class in the Center's rotunda, children learned about breathing techniques using scarves to observe the effect of breathing out through their mouths, practiced sitting tall and straight, and stretched and moved their bodies in a variety of ways, including moving like various animals. Healthy Harvest Program Hones in on Key Learning Areas

The Healthy Harvest nutrition and gardening education curriculum at Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center, initiated last year, will be expanded to include experiences and lessons that pair with the Center's curricular learning standards.
