High School Orchestra Holiday Visit

The East Hampton High School Orchestra came to the Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center on Friday, Dec. 22, just before Christmas break.

Students, led by Troy Grindle, the orchestra teacher, played holiday songs and showed the young children each of the instruments in the orchestra, with individual players giving demonstrations on cellos, violas, and violins.

All of the students at the Center, from toddlers through prekindergarteners, enjoyed the concert, singing along to songs such as “Jingle Bells, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” and the “Dreidel Song.”

A number of the high-schoolers in the orchestra were alumni of the center, and after the show reconnected with their former
teachers.
